AIOU Professors Moiz, Sultana and Daud visited San Jose for attending a series of workshops spread over a period of five weeks. The workshops included “Open Source and Affordable Leaning Solutions A & B” by Professor Christina Mune, “Universal Design for Learning and Accessibility” by Professor Elizabeth Tu, “Building Flipped Courses” by Professor David Parent, “Preparing students for Telecommuting Jobs” by Professor Jill Klees, “Building Quality Programs A and B” by Professor Debbie Faires and “Designing Highly Interactive Computer Science Courses” by Professor Cay Horstmann. The faculty members were also given tours of the campus; arrangements were made to observe a few of the classes and attend seminars on interesting topics such as “Automated Assessment Strategies for Computer Science Instruction”, “Hybrid/Skype International Learning,” etc. PDEEP Project Director Mark Adams and Contract Manager Hillary Evans made them feel at home by acquainting them with halal restaurants and introducing them to the Pakistani diaspora in the bay area. They also arranged for visits to Symantec Corporation, Google and other prestigious organizations where the faculty explored the job and internship opportunities available for the AIOU students at these companies.
Following is a video journal of the journey so far.
